Janca -Pass_Christian_HarborFrank Janca (b. 1953) is a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast who has exhibited nationally and internationally for 35 years.  His work is included in public and private collections worldwide.  Janca’s objective of creating “light with color and space with light” is reflected in paintings of landscapes and daily life of France, where he paints and teaches each year, juxtaposed with perceptions of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Janca grinds pigment by hand and cooks his own oil mediums.  His linen canvases are frequently under-painted in grisaille, a centuries-old technique of painting forms in grayscale, before color is applied.
