Figure Sculpture Workshop: A Clay Workshop with Stacey Johnson
In this workshop, students will work with a 24” inch figure or bust and explore ideas of symbolism and gestural expression in consideration of the body as a vessel. We will use color as a tool for conveying emotion and form. On day one we will construct the torso, arms, and head, and day two will focus on joining all components and fine tuning the work. This class is suitable for those with prior clay working experience and the ability to form slabs, join forms, and knowledge of basic clay working rules.
