Completion Campaign
When Hurricane Katrina hit Biloxi on August 29, 2005, the Frank Gehry designed Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art, eleven months from opening, was severely damaged.
Even with success in planning and fundraising, there are new costs and challenges that confront the Museum. Prior to Katrina, the cost of the campus was $15 million; today it is $36 million. The Pleasant - Reed Interpretive Center opened in September 2008. Three additional buildings are due to open in early 2011:
- Mississippi Sound Welcome Center
- IP Casino Resort Spa Exhibitions Gallery
- Gallery of African American Art
Your financial support is crucial to complete the "Pods" and Center for Ceramics.
The Ohr - O'Keefe Museum of Art is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.
