Immerse yourself in the art of Linocut Printmaking with artist Abreeza Thomas! Linocut is a relief printmaking process that uses linoleum as the surface into which the design is carved and then printed. In this 6-week beginner class, you will learn the fundamentals of linocut printing including transferring your image, carving the linoleum block, and inking and printing onto paper or fabric. This course covers carving techniques, reduction printing methods, and tricks to achieve stunning visual effects through color mixing and layering. All materials will be provided and are covered in the class fee.

About the artist:
Hailing from Jackson, MS, Abreeza Thomas has always had a lifelong passion for the arts. She graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2018 with a B.A. in Art as well as minors in Art History and French. She enjoys pursuing many creative endeavors and has multi-disciplinary training in areas such as dance, music, writing, and visual art. Her printmaking practice explores the diverse cultural history and architectural styles found in the New Orleans area.
