DESCRIPTION:Printmaking Studio presents: Introduction to Etching Workshop\nYou too can make beautiful hand made etching prints the same way that Rembrandt made his famous masterworks! Learn how a line drawing on a metal plate is turned into a printing plate that can then be printed on paper. Learn how to etch your zinc plate\, and pull a print from it on our press using traditional intaglio materials and methods under Master Printmaker\, Michael Richardson. \nThis single session workshop teaches how to ground a plate\, draw on it\, etch it\, and print it. All materials for this workshop provided. This workshop is the first\, in a series of sessions covering various traditional hand printmaking methods such as etching\, aquatint\, engraving\, and relief printmaking. Introduction to Etching Workshop #1 is also required to participate in future Printmaking Studio Open Workshop Sessions held throughout the year to understand how to use the press and other equipment safely. \nTime: Friday 10am-1pm\nInstructor: Michael Richardson\nLevel: Ages 18+ No prior experience necessary \nRefunds less credit card fees are available up to 7 days before the class begins.
