DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art for a special Artist-in-Residence Open Studio with Jerrod Partridge. From March through June 2026\, Partridge—our first non-ceramic artist-in-residence—explores the museum’s iconic architecture\, ceramics\, and coastal landscape through richly observed\, color-driven painting. \nVisitors are invited to step inside his working studio in the Center for Ceramics 4th Floor\, engage with the creative process\, and witness a progressive exhibition unfolding in real time within the lower gallery. Trained at the New York Academy of Art\, Partridge brings a dynamic blend of academic technique and regional influence shaped by the colorists of the Mississippi Delta. \nCome experience art in motion\, ask questions\, and connect with the artist behind the work in this rare\, behind-the-scenes opportunity.

Drawing from years of experience in anagama wood-firing\, Zach will discuss techniques for achieving specific surface effects\, the mechanisms and meaning behind working with wild clays\, and the rich ceramic history of Mobile Bay. He will also share stories of his family’s deep connections to the region’s longstanding clay traditions. \nThis special evening program is presented as an addition to the full Wild Clay Immersion Workshop Weekend. \nFree Event Open to the Public \nThis artist talk is funded in part by a grant from South Arts
