“The World Through My Eyes” is a collaborative project between the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art and local public schools. Professional artists are invited into the classroom to guide the creation of artwork that represents the students’ personal identities while also promoting art literacy.
The goal of this program is to expose school children to the arts and invite them to the museum through experiential art education. The students’ artwork will be shown quarterly in the Children’s Gallery space at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art.
The program, which takes place in the classroom, gives teachers and students the tools to connect fields of study to the arts. The art education project is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The museum plans to expand the program to older students and young adults in 2020.
