During this camp students will be introduced to a wide variety of art projects and insects! Campers will start the week with a couple of super fun ceramic projects including designing their own bug bowl and have a chance to try their hands at working on the potter’s wheel. Throughout the week, campers will also be creating their own 3-D glow bug as well as decorating the museums sidewalks with their own big bug drawings. The MSU Entomology outreach team will partner with the museum and bring various insects for the campers to see and touch while providing interesting facts about the bugs and their environments. They will then go outside to look for bugs and collect them in specimen containers. Campers will also partake in a tour of the museum. Friday the campers will have their work displayed at the camps art show. Campers will be decorating bug cookies as refreshments for the show. This camp is dedicated to creating a safe, fun and welcoming environment for all campers.
Due to the nature of this camp, campers will need to include information about any allergies – especially shellfish, cockroach, grass, ants and bees.
