Exhibition Statement:This exhibition presents a series of sculptural works that evoke the atmosphere of an otherworldly forest—one that exists between the familiar and the fantastical. Each piece invites viewers into a landscape shaped by organic rhythms, imagined ecosystems, and the intricate patterns that underlie living worlds.
At the core of this body of work is a fascination with natural fractals and the way they reveal deep systems of interconnection. Branching structures, repeating curves, and radiating forms echo the hidden networks that sustain real forests. The underground mycelial web—nature’s vast neural system—serves as both metaphor and inspiration, pointing to the unseen threads that bind individual organisms into a greater whole. This idea of interconnectedness led House to reference fungi, slime molds, and other organisms whose growth patterns mirror the complex geometries of living systems.
Within the works, elements blur the boundary between flora and form, suggesting a terrain charged with quiet movement and continuous transformation. Bloomshift hints at the familiar while remaining playful and ambiguous, reaching toward a parallel realm shaped by observation, imagination, and the logic of fractal growth. Together, the works form an immersive, whimsical environment that encourages a renewed sense of wonder at the unseen systems that shape our world.
