Molyneaux Quirky Art Circus and Curiosities | Angie Molyneaux
Community Art Gallery Second Floor of City of Biloxi Center for Ceramics
July 5, 2025 – September 25, 2025
Molyneaux Quirky Art Circus and Curiosities explores the circus’ role as an escape in a time when entertainment was scarce and life was simple. The early circus, with its vibrant displays of color and wonder, offered a brief but much needed respite from the ordinary. In today’s world, where we are overwhelmed by endless forms of entertainment and distraction, we long for that simple, more straightforward sense of awe that the circus once provided.
This exhibition also highlights the untold stories of women in the circus, acknowledging their groundbreaking roles during a period when options for women were limited. Aerialists and performers helped redefine what was possible, embodying strength, grace, and resilience. Today, women continue to juggle the demands of family, careers, and modern life, pushing boundaries just as those early circus women once did.
Angie Molyneaux’s background in interior design and her education at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota influence the whimsical patterns and geometric forms in her work, painting a playful yet thought-provoking tribute to a time when the circus was a world of magic and possibility.
