Community Art Gallery
Second Floor of City of Biloxi Center for Ceramics
An oil painter and observer of nature for over 50 years, painter Jerry Mauldin finds influence in the beauty of nature, which can be seen in his peaceful landscape paintings. His spirituality is reflective in the contemplative nature of his picturesque landscapes. In his still life works, he expresses the simple power of composition, perspective, light, shade and shadow. His awareness of color and light is apparent in his depictions of fruit, florals and Oriental-theme still life paintings.
He says of his work:
In each of my creations, I try to improve my artistic style by fine-tuning the relationships between all the components required to produce a convincing and pleasing peace of art. I want viewers to come away from my paintings with feelings of peace and serenity.
