Artist JJ Foley was born in 1957, in Baton Rouge, LA, and now lives in Gulfport, MS. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1980.  She has been an active artist drawing and painting her entire life and consistently exhibiting for the last 40 years.

She has participated in several group and one-person shows on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, one-person shows in New Orleans and New York.  Her work is included in many collections across the country and in Europe.
She has received many honors including being a recipient of the Mississippi Institute for Arts and Letters, in 2014. She was an artist-in-residence both in Valencia, Spain and in Manchester, UK, which included gallery talks and exhibits.

Her work has always been figurative in nature.  She works in practically all mediums, including oils, gouache, ink, ceramic, and fiber. Her primary focus is using oil paint on canvas or panels.  She aspires daily to continue growing and learning in the field of visual language.
