Selections from the Permanent Collection

IP Casino Exhibitions Gallery

The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art presents Selections from the Permanent Collection—a landmark exhibition unveiling our permanent collection to the public for the very first time.

This debut presentation features works by Paul Bongé, Charlie Lucas, Mario Petrirena, Willie White, Hee Joo (Janet) Yang, Puvis Young, alongside newly acquired ceramic pieces by our namesake, George E. Ohr.

Celebrate this historic moment with us—where legacy meets living art.

In 1992 the Alternative Museum responded to public-funding cuts by producing a portfolio of silkscreen prints by ten influential artists to support its work. This was a creative act that underlined the institution’s commitment to art as a social catalyst. With a generous gift from the Samantha M. Rodriguez family we present:

  • Ben Sakoguchi (b. 1939), Yellow Peril, 1992
  • Lorna Simpson (b. 1960), Cure/Heal, 1992
  • Andres Serrano (b. 1950) Red River #10, 1992
  • Ida Applebroog (1929-2023), Untitled, 1992
  • Leon Golub (1922-2004), Interrogation, 1992
  • Luis Jiménez (1940-2006), The Mass of Mankind Thomas Jefferson Quote, 1992
  • Adrian Piper (b. 1948), Let’s Talk, 1992
  • Vitaly Komar (b. 1943) and Alexander Melamid (b. 1945), Lenin at the Palladium, May Day, New York City, 1992
  • Jerry Kearns (b. 1943), American Noir, 1992
  • Luis Cruz Azeveta (b. 1942), Lotto: The American Dream, 1992
