Miss Pussycat (Panacea Theriac)

The Ledge of Maracula

John and James L. Knight Pavilion Pod 3

THE LEDGE OF MARACULA features an installation of puppets and ceramics by the New Orleans based artist, musician, and puppeteer, Panacea Theriac (a.k.a. Miss Pussycat). Through her work, Miss Pussycat creates paracosmic fantasies that often relate to her own experiences.

Included in the exhibition are puppets, puppet theater, images, and ceramics, from the artist’s latest project THE LEDGE OF MARACULA. This show follows the metamorphosis of two rocks made of stardust, a forest creature named Glow Worm, and the villagers of St. Claude Island, as they face the pain and the glory of show business.

This story is illustrated through a live tabletop puppet show

This performance is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mississippi Arts Commission.
