Description

“George Ohr: The Greatest Art Potter on Earth”

George Edgar Ohr (1857–1918) transformed wheel-thrown pots into ceramic works of art that were far ahead of their time. Ohr created ceramic vessels with unique shapes and quirky glazes. During his lifetime, people ridiculed his creations. Today, collectors and museums covet his ceramics and see them as forerunners of the American modernist movement. This volume showcases 135 of Ohr’s masterpieces. It is filled with research and insights into the life and work of one of America’s most singular and creative master artists.
